His Majesty King Oyo IV of Tooro Kingdom has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots golf development as the kingdom celebrated its 29th Coronation Anniversary. The king, a known patron of sports development in the region, used the occasion to highlight the role of golf in empowering young people and promoting the Tooro region to the world.
The coronation anniversary celebrations included a special junior golf championship organized by AFRIYEA Golf Academy at Toro Golf Club, with young golfers from across the kingdom competing in various categories. The king personally presented trophies to the winners and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in both golf and their studies.
"Golf is a sport that teaches patience, discipline, and integrity — values that are essential for success in life," said King Oyo IV. "I am proud to see so many young people from Tooro embracing this sport and representing our kingdom with distinction. AFRIYEA Golf Academy is doing excellent work, and I urge the community to continue supporting them."
The junior championship featured 64 young golfers divided into three age categories, with both boys and girls competing. The event was supported by local businesses and community leaders, who provided prizes and refreshments for the participants.
