AFRIYEA Golf Academy held its Annual General Meeting, bringing together board members, staff, partners, and community stakeholders to review the organization's performance in the past year and outline plans for the future. The meeting was held at the academy's headquarters in Fort Portal and was attended by representatives from the Uganda Golf Union, local government, and partner organizations.
The meeting highlighted significant achievements in the past year, including the expansion of the academy's programs to reach over 500 junior golfers, the successful launch of the GolfSixes League in Uganda, the establishment of new partnerships with international organizations, and the completion of infrastructure improvements at the training facility.
Financial reports showed responsible stewardship of resources, with the majority of funds directed toward program delivery and student support. The academy also reported progress on its environmental initiatives, including the planting of over 3,000 trees and the successful launch of the Save River Mpanga campaign.
Looking ahead, the academy outlined ambitious plans for the coming year, including the expansion of school golf programs to 25 schools, the establishment of a scholarship fund for talented juniors from disadvantaged backgrounds, and the development of a digital platform for remote coaching and learning.
Board members expressed confidence in the academy's direction and commended the staff for their dedication and hard work. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all supporters and partners who have contributed to the academy's growth and impact.
