The 2025 AFRIYEA Parent-Child Golf Championship brought even more families to Toro Golf Club for a festive day of intergenerational golf, building on the success of the previous edition. The tournament, held during the Christmas holiday season, saw a record 35 parent-child pairs competing across multiple categories.
The championship featured an expanded format with three divisions: father-son, mother-daughter, and a new mixed division for any parent-child combination. This inclusive approach ensured that all families could participate, regardless of their family structure or the ages of the children.
"The Parent-Child Championship has become a beloved tradition for our academy community," said Coach Daphine. "It is wonderful to see parents and children sharing the joy of golf together. These are the moments that create lasting memories and strengthen family bonds."
The event was followed by a Christmas-themed celebration with games, music, and a community meal. Proceeds from the tournament supported the academy's scholarship fund for junior golfers from underserved communities.
