AFRIYEA Golf Academy hosted a special Girls for Golf Empowerment Workshop, bringing together young women from across the Tooro region for a day of golf instruction, mentorship, and empowerment. The workshop aimed to break down barriers that prevent girls from participating in golf and to create a supportive community of young female golfers.
The workshop featured training sessions led by female coaches, panel discussions with successful women in sports and business, and interactive activities designed to build confidence and leadership skills. Participants learned about the opportunities available in golf, from professional playing careers to coaching, course management, and sports administration.
"We want every girl to know that golf is for them," said Coach Daphine. "There is no reason why girls cannot excel in this sport. With the right support and opportunities, our young women can achieve anything they set their minds to."
The workshop also addressed practical challenges that girls face in accessing golf, including the lack of appropriate equipment and facilities, cultural stereotypes, and safety concerns. Participants brainstormed solutions and developed action plans that they will implement in their schools and communities.
The Girls for Golf program is an ongoing initiative that provides regular coaching sessions, mentorship, and scholarship support for young female golfers. The program has already produced several talented players who are competing successfully in national junior tournaments.
AFRIYEA Golf Academy invites girls and young women from all backgrounds to join the program and discover the transformative power of golf.
