Uganda has been named among the top six tourist destinations in Africa whose diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Ruwenzori and Elgon mountains covering the western and eastern parts of the country respectively and with immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi impenetrable national park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary. the fees collected from the tourist is subjected to environment conservation activities such as purchase of tree seedling to plant around river Mpanga and other degraded areas, purchase of gloves to use in picking or collecting of plastics and polythene during the cleaning campaigns, installation of dust bins in busy areas and streets, supporting of AFRIYEA school environment clubs in various schools which do environment debates, environment story writing environment poems, environment innovation recycling challenge et al.
