Greetings from AFRIYEA Golf Academy,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the onset of the New Year. As always we have several updates and exciting news to share with you about our development.

Word from CEO

As we look back on the past year, we are grateful for the unwavering support that has allowed to thrive. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic and Ebola which disrupted our country and the world in general.  We emerged stronger and more committed than ever to our mission of providing an exceptional golfing experience to all the children.

We are so proud of the role we have played in promoting the game of golf in our communities, from hosting tournaments to coaching for aspiring golfers of all ages and skill level. Through our efforts we are inspiring a new generation of golfers who will carry on the tradition of excellence and sportsmanship that defines our academy.

Growing the game.

We are delighted to affirm that our January and February golf programs were a huge success. Our young golfers continue to show unprecedented progress and dedication towards their training.

The coaching team has been working hard to prepare them for a variety of events notably our annual inter school golf championship and other interesting events such as the parents children golf competition , holiday golf tournaments, kids connect championship and among others.

In January we hosted clinics and a junior’s tournament that attracted participation from the country where we saw some of the most talented young golfers competing to win. It was so inspiring to see so many young people embrace the sport and show passion, discipline and sportsmanship on the green.

In February we organized a specialized golf clinic for girls and a go back to school golf tournament for all the children. Which was great and successful with players coming again from different clubs to put their skills to test and we are incredibly proud of the academic management who went above and beyond to ensure the clinic and the tournament ran smoothly according our set priority objectives.

In March we resumed our school golf program and the tournament for the inter schools is underway.

Our school golf program has been on the steadiest progress providing a chance to kids from a variety of backgrounds to explore their golf potential.

School like to Tooro Parents Education Centre has incorporated our golf program into their termly activities which has provided sufficient time for children to join golf and we hope that with the continued passion for the game are confident of not only producing of great players but all a generation of values since kids learn much more than golf when they come at the academy.

International Recognition Award

The academy’s efforts toward environment protection didn’t go unnoticed as it received the prestigious award in England. The golf environment awards. This is a prestigious award that is given to the golf clubs that have gone above and beyond in their commitment to environmental sustainability. And AFRIYEA golf academy certainly earned that title following its implementation of a wide range of vigorous activities including preservation of the natural beauty, tree planting, plastic waste collection and recycling and awareness campaigns. Accepting the award Isaiah Mwesige spoke about the academy’s vision for the future “we are committed to continuing our efforts in promoting environment sustainability and ensuring that golf remains a lead sport in actions to preserve the environment. This award inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible and work towards a better future for all.”

International women’s day

On the 8th, March the global community celebrated the international women’s day and as a golf academy, we took the opportunity to celebrate the girls/women in gol. We recognized and reiterated our commitment to promoting gender equality in the game of golf. We believe everyone deserves to play and excel, regardless of gender.

Kid’s Education & life skills

The program includes sports-specific training, leadership development and community service projects. We remain committed to providing a well-rounded education and life experience that is well packed with social skills, soft skills among others.

The Environment

As golfers, we understand the importance of preserving nature and protecting the environment.  As an academy we therefore stand tall on our commitment to sustainability practices and the use of eco-friendly products to protect the course and communities. We encourage all members of the academy to be mindful of the environment and take steps to protect it.

In conclusion, we are grateful for everyone’s support and commitment to the academy’s mission. We remain dedicated to providing a world class of education, environment and athletic experience to our students.
